This page explains how to permanently delete your Snaqly account and all of the data associated with it, exactly what is removed, and what — for reasons outside our control — is not. Deletion is free, needs no reason, and is available to every user.
Method 1 — In the app (recommended, about ten seconds)
This is the fastest route and requires no contact with us:
- Open Snaqly and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll down to Delete account.
- Read the confirmation and confirm. Your account and its data are erased at once.
If you signed in some time ago, Firebase may ask you to sign in once more before allowing the deletion. This is a security measure to confirm it is really you; the app will tell you and take you to the sign-in screen.
Before you delete: cancel your subscription
Deleting your Snaqly account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Only Google Play can cancel it. If you have Snaqly Pro, cancel it in Play first, or you will continue to be charged for an account that no longer exists.
Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Snaqly → Cancel subscription.
Manage my subscription in Google PlayMethod 2 — By email (if you cannot open the app)
Lost the phone, already uninstalled, or the app will not start? Email us instead:
To: support@snaqly.com
Subject: Snaqly account deletion request
From: the email address on your Snaqly account (this is how we verify the request is yours)
Include: nothing else is required. You do not need to give a reason, and we will never ask you for identity documents or a password.
We verify the request, delete the account, and confirm by email — normally within 7 days, and within 30 days at the outside. If we cannot match the address to an account we will tell you rather than guess.
If you used Snaqly without ever signing in (a guest account), there is nothing on our servers to delete and no way for us to identify your data: it lived only on that phone. Uninstalling the app removes it.
What gets deleted
Everything below is erased from our servers, and the copy held on your device is wiped in the same operation:
| Data | Where it is removed from |
|---|---|
| Your profile — age, gender, height, weight, goal, target weight, activity level, dietary preference and any optional health considerations | Our servers + your device |
| Your food diary — every meal, portion, calorie and macronutrient entry, and the scan records behind them | Our servers + your device |
| Weight history, water log, workouts, streaks, badges and milestones | Our servers + your device |
| Your coach thread and every fact the coach had remembered about you | Our servers |
| Computed targets and analysis — the AI context document, detected patterns, plans, weekly reviews and insights | Our servers |
| Notification records, your push token, reminder hours, language and time-zone offset | Our servers + your device |
| Entitlement record — your stored Pro state, purchase token and subscription document | Our servers + your device |
| Usage and feature records held against your account | Our servers |
| Any AI reports you filed | Our servers |
| Your sign-in account itself — the Google, email or anonymous identity | Firebase Authentication |
| Food photographs — these were only ever stored on your phone; they go with the app when you uninstall it, and with the entry if you delete a meal | Your device |
What is retained, and why
Two things do not go with your account. We would rather tell you plainly than let you discover it:
- Google Play purchase records. Google is the seller for every Snaqly subscription and keeps its own billing and tax record of the transaction, including your payment method. We have never had access to it and cannot delete it. Direct requests about that data to Google Play support.
- Anonymised crash and usage statistics. These contain no diary content and, once your account is gone, are no longer linked to you. They expire on Firebase’s own schedule — up to 90 days for crash records and up to 14 months for aggregated analytics — and cannot be picked out individually because they are not tied to your identity any more.
We may also retain a minimal record of a deletion request itself (the fact that an account was deleted, and when) where we need it to demonstrate compliance with a legal obligation. It contains no diary content.
Health Connect data
Snaqly reads steps, active energy and weight from Android Health Connect with your permission, and never copies that data to our servers — it is read on your phone to show you your own figures. There is therefore nothing for us to delete.
To stop Snaqly reading it, open the Health Connect app → App permissions → Snaqly → revoke. Health Connect also keeps an access log so you can see exactly what was read and when. Revoking does not break the app.
Deleting only part of your data
You do not have to delete everything to remove something. Inside the app:
- One meal — open the Diary and swipe the entry away (with an undo, in case of a slip).
- One remembered fact — the Coach tab lists everything the coach remembers about you under "Remembers about you"; tap a chip to delete just that fact.
- Your optional health considerations — clear them in the profile setup; the app works without them.
- A weigh-in, a workout, a water entry — removable individually from their own screens.
- Your local data only — Settings offers a "Clear all data" action that wipes the device copy while keeping your account.
For anything you cannot reach yourself, email support@snaqly.com with the subject "Snaqly data deletion request", saying what you want removed.
After deletion
- The app returns to its first-run state. You can start again from scratch whenever you like — a new account shares nothing with the old one.
- You will receive no further notifications from us.
- A cancelled subscription stays cancelled; a subscription you forgot to cancel keeps billing (see above).
- If you had contacted support, the email correspondence itself is retained for up to 24 months so we can see the history of an issue, then deleted. Ask us in the same email if you want it removed sooner.
